The food was just ok..
Been going to Niecie's for years. The owners and staff are great and treat everyone like family.
I was not informed of a $3.79 up charge for sweet potatoes, I.e. I paid for the mashed potatoes and an additional fee for the same amount of sweet potatoe and no mashed potatoes. I feel I ld have been informed.
Customer service was great and the food our party of 15 had arrived hot and it was delicious. Chicken and waffles and pork chops are a MUST.

BLT was not the best choice to order. Pork chops were just average, and were deep-fried. Probably a great place for all-day breakfast. Or comfort food like fried chicken, potatoes and gravy, biscuits and gravy, etc.

Niecie’s epitomizes comfort home-style cooking. The chicken and waffles are the best we ever had and beat more pricey restaurants hands down. Service is friendly and efficient, portions are generous and prices are fair. Like going to Aunt Rosie’s for meals!

We always enjoy it but this time it was better than usual. The food came out piping hot and much faster than times before. Everything was delicious and the serving sizes were great. The waitress was polite and the bus persons were quick. We were in & out in 45 minutes but didn't feel rushed.

This is diner-style neighborhood restaurant, though well known throughout KC. Food is always reasonably priced and very good. Southern homestyle cooking. Great caramel cake. Great fried catfish. We go every time we're in KC.

The atmosphere is upbeat. The staff is polite, friendly and helpful. They serve the best soul food (yummy greens) and freshly made desserts. One cannot pass up a slice of their delicious pie or torte.

you start everyone with water, which is great, but would only do that if the server was under. If the server would have asked what we wanted before bringing the waters, we would have probably gotten sodas, which is a charge.

Friendly Staff
Server (Brandy) brought cracked cups with water and dirty silverware to the table. Additionally, she tossed napkins and straws down in a pile on the table. The condiment containers were dirty with food residue. Server forgot about our table and we waited at least 15 minutes and were at the point of leaving. The server only came back when she was asked by the counter manager (Lisa) why we were just sitting at our booth. Food was ordered and it came out relatively fast considering how long we had been forgotten. There were some fair items of all the meals ordered, such as the rolls, and smothered porkchops, however the majority of the food came out cold (mashed potatoes & macaroni - cheese), over salted (greens), and undercooked (filet of fish sandwich). Quality wise, it was not worth the wait. May have just been a bad day for the restaurant, but the impression left was not favorable. I waited over 11 months to get back to the restaurant. My first attempt was at New Years Eve, however I drove to the restaurant only to find it was closed (there was no indication that it would be closed from the information online about the restaurant). Counter manager offered us the opportunity to try the restaurant again another time, however it was a tough sale considering all that had been experienced.
Although there is nothing special about the decor. The waitress was great and very professional.

I live nearby and had wanted to try them out. Excellent home cooked main courses and sides. I had the baked chicken and dressing, my mom had the beef short ribs, both delicious. Very sweet staff.

Wonderful friendly, neighborhood atmosphere
I haven't eaten at Niece's in 8+ years for various reasons but our server Myra recognized me right away. It was a good reunion! The food as always tasted great, was hot and served within the timeframe given.
Thank you we had a good time the my company was visting from out of town and he enjoy coming her every time he comes.
