Absolutely fabulous! I will be back for sure!
The owner was wonderful. We were celebrating my dad's 92nd Birthday. Everything from the reservation, service, ambiance, and food were perfect.

although pricey, first class service and food was lacking. Bread served (at those prices) was 3 2 inch around slices of miniature french bread. The place was busy, but we had trouble finding a waiter for water, silverware. Waiters were courteous, but absent... We be going there again.....

We loved it! It was Happy Hour, with 2 for 1 wines, at the bar, so we elected to eat dinner there, too. The crowd was fun & we chatted with another couple to our right. The bartender was friendly & took our food order, which came out quickly. We ordered an excellent pasta with chicken dish & a shrimp dinner. The mood and decor was beautiful, as well.

Extraordinary from valet parking to dessert. We enjoyed our Happy Hour cocktails and the tasty Tapas selections. Dinner was wonderful with service that was perfect. Bravo to the kitchen who prepared the most wonderful dinner. We will be returning often to this most outstanding Delray Beach environment.

Food & service were excellent, but I am not happy that the restaurant decided the amount of the tip, and added it to the total. I like to decide the amount I want to tip. It’s about the only restaurant where I’ve had this experience.

I can understand why this restaurant has mixed reviews. It is overpriced and inconsistent. Some of the food is very good whereas, some of the food is just average. For example, the Coq Au Vin was excellent, one of the best, I've ever eaten. On the other hand, the Souppe de Poisson was just mediocre. The broth tasted lack luster!!! We only received four very small thin slices of baguette and they were not warm. The restaurant was extremely crowded and very, very noisy. It was almost impossible to hear your dinner partner above the din of the room. If I could've given this restaurant 3.5 stars I probably would've done that.

The restaurant was overpriced by $10 per entree and proportionately on appetizers, salads, wine. The value was very poor. Four scallops for $38 served with less than a half cup of rice. Le petit rip off. We will never return. It was rated $$$. You need to change this to $$$$.

Pacing much too fast. Food came out almost immediately, no time to relax and chat between courses. French onion soup-good cheese, poor broth and cold. Seafood crepes basically a scallop crepe. Paella-rubbery calamari, lacked flavor, an all around disappointment.

There was a problem with Rack of Lamb being too well done. Mentioned it to Francis and said that I would eat it but wanted them to know. He insisted in giving a new plate and even gave me an extra chop in the plate. They know how to treat customers. Food superb. Alain, very attentive.

They opened at 5pm Saturday and close at 10pm, so I would say the hours are probably best for seniors. We arrive at about 6:15pm and were the only ones there until about 6:45/7pm. We found that odd, but the bartender informed us that it doesn't start to get busy for another half an hour or so. Around 7:30pm it got pretty busy and majority of diners were seniors. My husband and I are in our 30s so we felt a little out of place. But he service and food made up for that. :) And you can tell these patrons were regular customers because the host/seating staff greeted many of them personally by name. The prices were pretty high (for our wallet) at $40 an entrée for each person. So I would not go back unless I had another restaurant gift certificate and this time I would dine with another married couple we know...maybe an older married couple we know. :)

We were still talking while finishing our coffee...the waiter felt compelled to clear the wine glasses at this point. One glass still had a small amount of wine which he knocked over and it splashed toward me. Luckily, I was wearing a black top and most of my lap was covered with the napkin. I don't understand why they can't leave the remaining items on the table until we leave. Accidents like this are bound to happen, plus the intrusion of the waiter at our table while we are talking is quite annoying.

The restaurant was noisy, and for a place that is so expensive, we had to shout to hear each other. The food was only ok. My salmon was dry, although when I complained they brought me extra sauce to make it more tasty.

I prefer a spicier meal. They didn't ask, and I neglected to inquire about levels of spiciness. The food, while fine, was a bit bland. In talking to the server later, I was informed that I could choose whatever level of spiciness I desire....more my problem than theirs.

The restaurant was very busy and we did not have a reservation so we waited at the bar then chose to stay there to dine. The bartender is warm and welcoming so we felt very comfortable there. I am on a wheat free diet and they have gf options and it was amazing.

Lovely restaurant and maitre'd or whoever is at desk is very nice. Salmon was delicious - wild I was told - forgot risotto cake and waiter said it was becuse we got extra vegetables which wasn't true. Caesar salad was awful with thick tasteless dressing. Molten chocolate cake had to be done twice - first time it was overcooked and waiter wasn't very gracious about it. Second time he forgot to bring the strawberries that go with it - not a big deal but we specifically asked. Service for the most part was poor - no checking do you need anything, how is everything etc and they cover this by adding on 20%. Some of the food we saw looked quite good - some portions were small. They charge a great deal - caesar salad $17 - caprese $18 - etc etc - look at website
Menu has been abreviated and many favorites are missing. Fish was good but a special of liver ordered pink was more than well done. Noone came to check.Wrong appetizers brought. Server walked around the room asking each table if it was theirs.

As usual, the dining experience at La Cigale was excellent. The owner, Francis, is, as always, the perfect host. The food and service were, as usual, beyond reproach. The improvements from the remodeling are very evident and well done.
The escargot appetizer was quite delicious and our entrees were as well. The Crème Brulee was perfectly done!

The wait staff couldn't do enough for us...excellent service.Restaurant is very cozy, sort of like a French country inn and the boss floats around making sure every thing is up to par.La Cigale is about a mile south of Atlantic Ave and they have their own parking lot with free valet service, a very nice featureto consider in this hectic town. There is also a separate room for larger parties of maybe 20 to 40...I'm guessing, call to find out...but not large enough for,say, 100.

We had a wonderful dining experience. The food was exceptional and we received personal attention from Alan, the owner. My husband had duck for his entree and I had the Osso Buso. Both were perfect. We shared a Blue Point Oyster appetizer and had soup as well. Everything was great. As a nice surprise we were treated to Creme Brulee for dessert. If you want an exceptional meal I highly recommend this restaurant.

We started with the Calamari/Escarole appetizer. Absolutely superb. We then shared a Caeser salad. (Made properly with Anchovies.)Top Shelf. My lady had the Mussels in Saffron Sauce. She raved about it. I had the Osso Buco over Polenta. Quite possibly, the best O/B preparation that I have ever encountered. We finished with Coffee and the Bread Pudding. Great finish to a great meal. As usual, the service was impeccable. In our humble opinion, Francis runs one of the finest restaurants in Florida.

First time there. I was surprised at the high cost compared to some of the other restaurants in the area. We enjoyed our meal but it is not a place we would visit often.

We shared a cold seafood sampler as an appetizer and it was a little undersized in my opinion. The 6 small clams, 4 oysters, 2 shrimp and crab meat were fresh and good, but not enough to be on entrée side of menu.

WE called a few weeks ago for a reservation and asked for a nice quiet table since it was an anniverasry. The man asked what is a good table. My husband said in a quiet area. The table was terrible. Right in the way of waiters coming and going every 30 seconds. Very disappointing considering it is our anniversary today.

The food was excellent and the service was as well until we ordered dessert. The waiter disappeared for 1/2 hr. after we ordered dessert.The waiter was to find out if it was gluten free. Were were told it was and the wait ensued. When it was finally delivered there was a question whether it was indeed gluten free. Deciding to be safe the order was changed to Creme Brulee. It took another 15 minutes before that was served. When the bill was presented Alan (manager?) apologized we saw that he removed the charge for the dessert. We will definitely return to this restaurant. The food we enjoyed was truly delicious and are hoping our experience was not typical.

Attentive waiter. Nice ambience.Prices were moderate- about $35 for entres, $9 deserts, house wine $8/glass. We did not order appetizers but I believe they were in the $10-12 range Paella was excelent and one companion enjoyed Petite Osso Buco, which was three small shanks, but a nice portion overall. Will definitely return.

The only thing I enjoyed was the attention paid to us by the staff. The meals are highly overpriced for the quality of the food and its presentation. The duck was dry and flavorless and could have been cooked several days prior ro being served. I have had much superior meals at other restaurants at a cost of 1/2 the price. In addition, the noise from other tables was so loud in the small room in which we were seated that we could not have a conversation among the three of us.
Whenever this snowbird returns La Cigale is a must. Food, ambiance, service is always excellent.

We arrived at 7:30 on time for our reservation and left at 8:25. That's how fast the food came. We ordered a bottle of wine and 4 appetizer's 2 onion soups which we had to send back, as they were sour a caesuras salad with no anchovies that tasted like anchovies were mixed in and a special seafood soup with no seafood.What a disaster. After they took away 2 bad soups meal showed up.We new if we sent back it would only come back reheated.So spent almost 2 hundred to eat in 55 minutes.

There were many people besides us who were seated 1 hour beyond their reservation time. The manager did nothing for this crowd.....no glass of wine or complimentary appetizer. They had overbooked and a lingering private party held things up. The hostess kept disappearing rather than face the angry crowd.Apologies were given for the lateness in serving the coffee. An automatic tip of 20% was added which would have been more than we would have left.
Waiting 40 minutes to be seated from the time of our reservation was not acceptable. Only the stressed hostess who seated us apologized. No one from management. Food was good -- not great. Baby arugula salad was best part of meal.

We went here 2 yrs ago and really liked it, but this time was a little different. Service was almost Excellent, but server ran away when I asked about the diminished wine list. Food was almost excellent, but was one notch down on everything. The wine list is a frail image of what it was before, or maybe it reflects the changing clientele - seemed a bit older and maybe not as inclined to spend $100 on a great bottle of wine. There were no Cabs worthy of ordering, except the Simi. It was printed on poor paper with old plastic covers. When your prices are competing with Cut 432, you need to step up your game, again unless you're catering to the senior crowd. Not disappointed, but kind of deflated.

The dining experience was wonderful. My only complaint is that with a reservation we had to wait a good half hour to be seated.
Pricy but worth the visit
everything was excellent
service was slow, no bread and butter plates on the table - coffee was tepid. Have liked this restaurant in the past but I don't think we will visit again.
One of the best dinners we've had in a while. Flavors were exceptional. The service was not as good as I would expect for these prices. We were largely ignored when we asked for something. It was very expensive and I expected better attention.

One of the dishes we ordered was extremely spicy and we had to send it back. The wait staff was very understanding and got us another order right away. The food was very good but it was quite noisy in the place.

Everything was awesome. We were not sure who our server was, but I'm pretty sure the owner may have been at the table several times and even opened a bottle of wine. We had a male take our order who seemed new and a female open our second bottle of wine. Everything was great. The food was excellent. The service was good. The atmosphere was great. It's an expensive restaurant, so I doubt I will be going often, but if I could I would!!
