Service was great from the minute we walked in the door until the time we left. Atmosphere very pleasant , relaxed, no feeling of being rushed and food was fantastic! We have been dining here over the past 15 years.

Well,this is the first time we waited almost 2 hrs for our meal. The appetizers took at least 1/2 hr which was slow also. It was crowded tonight but the girls seemed to be moving in good pace. We ate upstairs. Our server was not the best. She wasn’t at our table for drink refills until our meal came. We asked for the skin on the two fishfrys to be removed and she only had one done! That was disappointing! We received a basket with one small loaf of bread. No butter with it so I walked to the next table and took a dish of butter. We should have received two loaves of bread as I saw tables with less people receive two. We had a party of eight. The children wanted more bread but our server didn’t return to the table for long periods. We were disappointed the overall wait time was so long. We like this restaurant might might think twice about going there on a Friday night!

The service was great but the food has fallen below par. My husband ordered his steak medium but it was well done. He didn't say anything. I ordered fish tacos. The first taco I ate was extremely spicy. The pico de gallo must have had jalepno's because my nose ran and my mouth was on fire. I tried to pick the pieces of pepper out so I could eat the rest. The second taco had no pico at all so tasted bland. We have eaten at this restaurant for the 32 years we have lived here. The quality of the food was always excellent. This time it was not. With the prices on the menu the food should be top quality and it wasn't. It was the quality of a fast food restaurant. The waitress was exceptional. I only told her about the spiciness of the taco. We did not say anything about the steak. My husband also had fried okra which I didn't taste but they looked unappetizing.

Comfortable quiet atmosphere, good service, food quality always top-notch. My Duck Breast Marsala was done perfectly; My companions' fish fry coating was thin, crisp and tasty. Side salad was perfect size. I took half the duck breast and rice home and enjoyed it again for lunch the next day.

It is a nice quiet place to eat. My daughter and I went for lunch and had a great time just visiting with each other.

Eating at Gaslight Grill has become a regular dining place for us. The menu is great and changed frequently, the service is especially good (everybody knows your name) and the price is fantastic for 'fine dining'. The only place in the area with all these qualities!

A few issues with a new waitress. The lunch special said $6.50 for a fish fry, but I was charges $7.95. The waitress I was use to having would bring me a whole small loaf of fresh bread, but this one brought me 1/2. The fish I got was no more than 4 bites, less than usual. I asked for a macaroni substitute of the cole slaw and it was No more than 2 bites, it use to be much bigger. Her attitude was awful too, even though I said the special was suppose to be $6.50, she said "Oh the cook just puts that on as a joke, it's $7.95. I told her that wasn't right, but I'd pay the $7.95.

WE quite often try new restaurants after obtaining a coupon from Restaurant.com. This restaurant was amazing, great food and staff, will definitely visit them again.
The service was very good and the food was excellent.
Usually their fish frys are the Best, so I bought 2 to take home to eat with my son and to show him how perfect the are fried. I just ate a couple appetizers (I ate a big breakfast). I was very disappointed with the fish this time! They tasted burnt or old oil was used and the coating was darker than usual.

We had a great Valentines dinner. The menu choices were very good. We had appetizers and a full dinner. All was very good and portions were great. Waitress Michelle was very friendly and attentive

Does Casual Elegance make sense? That's how I describe the Gaslight experience. Very busy Saturday night and Jack's wait staff were busy, but the service and the the food quality were top shelf, as usual. Two Prime Rib au Jus dinners ordered Rare, received on the rare side of Medium Rare, exactly as we expected. Perfectly done, great taste, salads, soup, veggies and the twice-baked potatoes were spot-on. Service was so prompt we had to nurse our gin-and-tonics throughout the dinner. All for well under $50, cocktails, tax and tip included! Were we happy? OH, YES! Dining room is separate from the Bar, the latter having TV's for watching the game.

Menu had a nice selection and specials were listed on a board as you walk in. Waitress was very pleasant and did not bat an eye when one of our party spilled their drink. Food was prepared and served nicely. The special requests made were done correctly and promptly. Definitely going back and highly recommend Jack's as worth the trip!
My favorite dish at Jack's (Blackened Chicken and Shrimp Alfredo, has been changed to Cajun Shrimp and Chicken. I was not nearly as happy with the new dish. The old one was my favorite all time dish for dining out. A bit disappointing.

The waitress didn't bring the appetizers out before the meal and the lemonade was watered down. The french onion soup was barely any onions or croutons. My friend ordered a cheeseburger & fries and she brought just fries. We told her she ordered a cheeseburger too and the waitress said No she didn't but I'll get one. I ordered a hamburg pink inside and it was real raw, barely brown on outside and bun was real soggy.It was a lot worse than other times I've been there.

A rather old establishment on Downtown(Main St) Dansville, NY. Went on Saturday evening. Suggest reservations and arrive early. Parking spots are not plentiful. They start serving at 5 pm.
Food was great as usual. And, Kristen, our waitress, just couldn't have been better. She's a real gem!
The food was very good, but the portions [especially sea food] were on the small size. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was nice. We live over an hour away, and with the smaller portions served, we probably won't be back.
Jack's is always clean & neat. The staff is friendly and helpful. Chef is accommodating as well. Great place for casual or special occasions!

Our party was greeted and seated in a lovely corner table at the front window. We were served our drinks and soup quickly, both delicious. This is one of the rare restaurants that serves RC cola products. It was a treat. Our meals were served quickly and they were also delicious. Our party sat and talked after finishing our food for another 2 hours and our server didn't mind. (We left additional tip money for her, as that was only fair.)
I got the Manhattan clam chowder and deep fried mushrooms. I told the server the veggies in the chowder were still crunchy. The mushrooms are too big too! They seem to use huge mushrooms and smaller ones are better for deep frying and flavor.

The lobster and shrimp spaghetti is fabulous. They also serve one of the best chicken french dishes i have had. Weeknights are $10 meal specials which are the same size as regular meals but with only 1 side.

The duck creole was delicious and our server was very professional yet caring. We will definitely go there again. One person in the party felt his prime rib was a little overcooked but that would be the only concern.
Everyone's food was excellent. Took a friend here this time for first time--she's VERY picky about her food and usually doesn't even like to eat out. She loved Jack's and said the fish melted in her mouth.

It's my local restaurant....they were exeptionally busy when we went, so service wasn't great, were there almost 2 hrs, but was ok w/that fact. Waitress was a little confused because of being busy.
